Community Project
In the beginning of the year we learned about communities including what a community is, who are our community helpers, and how to read a map of our community. The kids had a great time creating their own community maps and models along with their very own community helpers.
Desert Project
We are currently involved in our desert project. Students are learning about what the desert is, which plants and animals live in the desert, and how these plants and animals adapt to their surroundings. Students will be creating their own desert animals complete with adaptations to survive in the desert. These animals will be placed in a diarama where students can display where the animal lives, what it eats, and how it adapts to the environment to protect itself from predators and the harsh desert climate. I am very excited to see all of the creative ideas they can come up with!
